NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS
Baseball Fund-Raiser a Home Run

We had a successful and fun afternoon at the New Britain Rock Cats baseball game on Sunday, July 18. Thanks to the 50 clients, families and friends who attended the game with us, we were able to raise about $700 for the National Kidney Foundation.

Half of the game's ticket proceeds went to the National Kidney Foundation serving Connecticut. Separately, we held a raffle of two Specialized children's mountain bikes. The entire proceeds of the raffle went to this worthwhile cause.

We'd like to thank everyone who attended. And we'd like to single out clients Rich and Anna Retallack, who are involved with the charity and invited us to participate. They worked hard all day long and earned our gratitude for helping to organize the event for all of us to enjoy.

OUR TECHNOLOGY

Our Technology

Today’s technology helps our clients collaborate with their advisors and communicate with other staff members. We remain committed to pro
viding personal service. To supplement our regular face-to-face meetings, we give clients the tools they need to keep in touch, retrieve account information and access important documents.

lockThrough our website’s Client Resources page, clients have 24/7 access to real-time portfolio performance reports. The reports are updated daily to include the latest balances and transactions. And we can customize the reports so that clients can have the information presented in the format they prefer.

The Client Resources page also features our Document Vault, where we securely store digital copies of important documents such as insurance policies, estate plans, financial plans and tax returns. Clients can access these documents from any computer with an Internet connection and share them with other advisors, such as their accountant or lawyer.

Financial planning tools also are available through the Client Resources page. In between regular review meetings, clients can compare their progress with their financial plan.

We can provide clients with a virtual desktop on our server. Using this desktop, clients can run programs such as Quicken and QuickBooks from any computer. And by using our password-protected server clients don’t have to worry about backing up or securing sensitive data on their own computers.

Recommended Tech Tools

Technology can make managing and protecting your finances simpler than ever. And it can keep you moving toward your financial goals.

We often help clients set up Quicken or Mint.com to help manage their household cash flow. Quicken is a more powerful tool, but takes more effort to set up and learn. Mint.com, a Web-based service, provides 90 percent of the information you can get from Quicken and is easier to use. Both are excellent tools.

To protect your identity, we recommend using LifeLock. The service monitors your identity and can alert you when there are threats to your personal information. Most importantly, it renews your fraud alert with the credit agencies every 90 days and regularly checks for credit established in the name of minor children. It also searches the Web for illegal selling of your information. And if your wallet is lost or stolen LifeLock will cancel and replace your bank and credit cards.
